37 weeks now! I think we need one more belly picture. I will make the request of Mike.
This week is spring break and I am off hanging out with Iz. I thought I would be super mom and schedule fun outings for us to do every day. And we have been doing some fun stuff, but we have also watched an embarrassing amount of television. This has been our schedule:
7:00 Wake up (Iz gets up at the same time), test blood sugar, make breakfast
7:30 Mike leaves for work.
8:00 Put Iz into our bed with the TV on PBS so I can get a shower
8:30 Climb into bed with Iz and doze for 45 minutes while she continues to watch TV
9:15 Realize the day is passing us by. Turn off TV, force Iz to brush teeth, hair, change clothes
9:45 Get out the door for our fun activities
1:30 Return from activities exhausted. Put TV on and doze on the couch while Iz watches.
3:00 Try to get Iz out the door and do something outside before Mike comes home
4:00 Call Mike and beg him to come home early. PLEASE.
4:30 Mike arrives, I turn off TV and retreat before it is time to start dinner.
I am averaging 2 naps a day, Iz is getting 0. Oh well. And I have woken up several times with her face 1 inch from my face with a crazy grin on it. Spooky.
Today we had lunch with Mary, Jessica, and Jessica's baby Jacob. (When I told Iz we were having lunch with Mary, she assumed I meant Aunt Mary. When my friend showed up, she said "That's not Mary!") Iz was In Love with Jacob and wanted to touch and tickle and pat him to death. Luckily Jacob (and Jessica!) were tolerant of her affection. Before lunch, we stopped by Books A Million for Iz to spend a gift certificate (she bought horse figures that came with horse books) and the cool downtown toy store. In the toy store, we just played for an hour until it was lunch time.
Tomorrow our neighbor is hosting an easter egg hunt and lunch for 20 kids (plus moms)! I am sure it will be fun and exhausting. Thursday we may be able to hook up with a friend from work, but if not we may go to see the Horton movie. Friday is supposed to be another visit with Jessica and Jacob. I want Iz to acclimate as much as possible to the idea of a baby.
Yesterday we went to a play group with our neighbor at a local park. It was great fun! One of the moms had 4 kids there and handed her baby to me while she attended another one. Iz came running over when she saw me holding the baby. "Who that? Where is his mommy and daddy?" As soon as I assured her this was not our baby, she relaxed and tickled him and said "He misses Mamaw. He wishes Mamaw were here." Don't we all, kid.
